Greek Baked Feta Recipe

An incredibly simple yet savory recipe I picked up along our travels to the Greek Island of Zakynthos (the third largest of the Ionian Islands!) Ready in minutes, throw it in the oven as a last minute party entertaining appetizer or on the grill for a hassle-free BBQ side your guests will love! Creamy and spreadable, pairs nicely with bruschetta or simply eaten on its own.

You will need a small shallow terra cotta cazuela for this recipe. These are a good choice for this particular recipe.

INGREDIENTS

1 block feta cheese 2 Tbsp olive oil 1/2 cup sliced tomatoes of your preference 1 Teaspoon of Greek seasoning (or your own dried herb blend of oregano, marjoram, thyme, parsley, garlic powder, black pepper) OPTIONAL TOPPINGS: -Kalamata olives -Red Onion Sliced -Sliced Green Pepper

Feta cheese contains friendly bacteria that have been shown to promote immune and intestinal health, in addition to their anti-inflammatory effects.

INSTRUCTIONS

-Preheat oven to 400 degrees F -Set feta in the center of a terra cotta cazuela. Drizzle with oil and toss in the toppings of your choice and spices. -Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until feta and toppings have softened. Serve immediately.
